Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Network Engineering to lead our network infrastructure operations team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing complex network architectures in colocation as well as public cloud environments, including Azure, GCP, and AWS. In addition to technical expertise, the candidate should possess strong leadership and strategic planning skills to drive our network engineering initiatives forward. This role reports directly to the VP of Global Operations and offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Architecture Design and Implementation: Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable and secure network architectures across our global colocation footprint as well as Azure, GCP, and AWS platforms.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Manage and mentor a globally distributed team of network engineers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.

  • Cloud Networking Expertise: Drive innovation in cloud networking technologies and best practices, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Security and Compliance: Collaborate with the security and compliance teams to implement and maintain SOC2, FedRAMP, and PCI controls within the network infrastructure and support regular audit activities.

  • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize network performance, reliability, and scalability to meet the evolving needs of the business.

  • Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with network infrastructure vendors and service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and solutions.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans for the evolution of the network infrastructure, aligning with business objectives and industry trends and staying ahead of planned obsolescence.

  • Capacity Management and Procurement: Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to determine future capacity needs to support organic and inorganic growth. Align with Finance and Procurement groups to forecast expenses and deliver capacity.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate network-related risks, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of critical business data and services.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in network engineering/operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.

  • Extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing network architectures in on-prem and cloud environments, including Azure, GCP, and AWS.

  • Strong understanding of security and compliance frameworks, such as SOC2, FedRAMP, and PCI, with a track record of implementing relevant controls.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.

  • Proven ability to think strategically, ruthlessly and relentlessly prioritize initiatives and resources, pivot effortlessly, and drive results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Relevant certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent are highly desirable.

  • Experience in industries with stringent regulatory requirements, such as healthcare, FISMA, or FinServ, is a plus.

Location:
