WestRock Company Second Press Operator in Downers Grove, Illinois

WestRock in Downers Grove, IL is looking for a Second Press Operator. This is a 12-hour night shift position (6pm-6am).

Pay is cumulative with experience. We are also offering a shift differential of $2.50/hour.

GENERAL PURPOSE: Assist the First Press Operator in the operation and maintenance of the assigned press.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Reviews job ticket, brings stock and ink to press, makes sure all paper is accounted for and ink is the correct color/type.

  • Examines printed sheet along with First Press Operator during press run for quality assurance.

  • Feeds paper during press run and operates continuous feeder in an efficient manner.

  • Ensures press does not run short of ink or chemicals.

  • Washes press during change over, or end of shift wash up

  • Maintains awareness of policies and safety procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience on a sheet fed press.

  • Must have good color perception.

  • Work with densitometers, spectrophotometers, calculators, computer terminals, gloss meters, PH/conductivity meters.

  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Maintain good attendance and be dependable.

  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
