Universal Health Services Patient Experience Coordinator - Part-Time in DOVER, Delaware

Dover Behavioral Health System is seeking a Patient Experience Coordinator - Part Time to drive the Patient Experience on Assigned Unit through strong tactical and patient care support.

Work Hours:

24 hours per week minimum

Position responsibilities:

  • With a strong customer centric focus, answer the unit telephone and ensuring that callers receive friendly service and are routed to the appropriate party

  • Drive the Patient Experience by being a resource to patients, families, referral sources, and outside providers to ensure positive patient care

  • Assists RN and LPNs with daily set up and delineation of duties upon the approval of the RN, including serving as a liaison between the RN and MHTs to solve escalated issues

  • Track patient charts, lab work and other documents, monitors the admission lab turnaround, and prepares documentation for physician review

  • Initiates chart forms for patient admissions, transfers, and discharges and maintains patients’ charts in appropriate organizational and sequential order including filing reports, test results, nursing notes, etc. daily as well as assemble new charts and file daily

  • Accurately performs vital signs at time of admission and on an ongoing basis to include temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure and reports abnormalities to the nurse.

  • Participates in therapeutic crisis intervention when needed with patients.

  • Observes and monitors the patients’ status and safety; delivers care according to standards consistent with multidisciplinary treatment and discharge plan, care directives, and expected outcomes.

    Qualifications

    Minimum:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a self-directed manner

  • Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality

    Preferred:

  • Clerical experience in a psychiatric or hospital setting preferred
