The Opportunity

The Card Product Strategy & Analytics Manager within the Ally Credit Card business will be a key player in the Ally Card team. The Manager will partner closely with the CRM team to drive profitable growth and scale card Cross Sell in an omni-channel fashion. The Cross Sell strategy is a key growth lever for Ally Credit Card with strong executive backing and interest. The Cross Sell Product Strategy & Analytics Manager will work closely with the Product, Risk, Ops, IT, Digital and the CRM team to define and bring to life the Card Cross Sell Product strategy. The role requires a strong mix of analytical & critical thinking abilities, understanding of different marketing channel dynamics, deep process excellence, project management, operational & executional talent. They will use several data sources to generate insights and uncover opportunities to fuel acquisitions growth and maximize value of the channel. Ally’s acquisition strategy is diverse, complex, and cutting-edge; this role will be key to enabling the fast-paced acquisitions growth agenda. Candidates should be excited to incorporate data-driven insights, business intuition, and scenario analysis to identify the best course of action.

The Work Itself

  • Define and manage intent for Credit Card Cross Sell Product, Targeting, and Underwriting to ensure the end Card product experience meets the needs of the Cross Sell population
  • Develop volumes & performance forecasts for various Cross Sell segments and channels, and work with finance to update P&L assumptions
  • Provide campaign specific strategic recommendations to internal partners based on business goals and KPIs
  • Conduct strategic analysis of segments, products, pricing, and operations to improve business strategy. Recommend new credit segments for testing
  • Design and optimize product strategy by segments. Own product related (APR, rewards/non-rewards, etc) test & learn agenda
  • Partner with platforms and IT teams to develop best in class infrastructure to support our Cross Sell acquisitions agenda and monitor operational health
  • Monitor the credit performance of booked Cross-Sell accounts to ensure suitable profit and risk performance
  • Work with Card digital Channel owners on custom digital affiliate cross-sell strategies
  • Collaborate with various internal partners to uncover insights to improve competitive positioning & profitability, and drive towards Ally Card’s acquisitions/origination goals
  • Provide feedback on Creatives under development to CRM with special focus on Product positioning/benefits hierarchy
  • Bring card-specific innovative ideas to internal partners like CRM for testing
  • Work with Card Valuations team to develop custom PV models/build xsell specific valuations infrastructure

The Skills You Bring

  • Approximately 5 years of experience with business analysis, marketing, project management, general management.
  • Ability to work independently, adept at working with large teams of internal and external stakeholders across business groups, and comfortable interfacing with C/President level executives.
  • Solid understanding of the dynamics of different marketing channels
  • Ability to influence internal partners to fuel platform growth.
  • Comfortable leveraging data analysis solutions (using SQL/Python) and working hands-on with large analytical datasets to deliver insights
  • Understanding of unsecured credit as well as extensive knowledge of financial analysis, effective risk management practices, and analytical methodologies is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn rapidly and solve problems dynamically.
  • Self-starter; comfortable with ambiguity and open-ended problems.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High degree of initiative with a strong drive for results.
  • BS or MS in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Science, MIS, or similar quantitative, analytical field.
  • Prior experience in credit card marketing, cross-Sell marketing, and/or analysis preferred, but not required.
