Job Description:

As a Multi-craft Maintenance Technician, you will support all manufacturing areas by repairing, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance on all packaging-related equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to a maintenance supervisor and collaborate with both hourly and salaried maintenance and production personnel.

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment, including switches, controls, meters, motors, and transformers.

  • Install, maintain, and repair pneumatic controls and equipment.

  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, including ladder diagrams and programming logic diagrams. Make programming changes, load, and record programs using PLC terminals and recorders.

  • Apply industrial electronic and electrical theory and the theory of industrial electronic components and controls as needed.

  • Perform shop calculations to determine proper dimensions, fuse requirements, ampere flow, wire size, and motor horsepower.

  • Operate and use power tools, hand tools, and electrical test equipment to install, maintain, and troubleshoot plant electrical equipment.

  • Apply electrical practices to machinery specific to plant processes and operations, differentiating between electrical and mechanical issues.

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, including necessary craft-related cleaning and lubrication.

  • Requisition materials from stores for assigned jobs and ensure proper charges on withdrawal slips.

  • Select and requisition appropriate shop equipment, machinery, and tools to accomplish assignments.

  • Prepare reports and maintain required records.

  • Recognize and report deficiencies, defective equipment, or unusual conditions to supervision.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area to ensure the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation standards.

  • Observe all safety rules, precautions, and practices to ensure personal and others' safety.

  • Train additional personnel in any aspect of this job as required.

  • Use computer-based applications such as SAP, RD Web, and others as applicable.

  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

  • Basic computer skills, including keyboarding.

  • Excellent customer service skills, such as problem-solving, timeliness, and follow-up.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of maintenance principles and practices, with the interpersonal and technical skills to repair mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation problems positively and professionally.

  • Ability to react proficiently and positively to machinery breakdowns and equipment problems.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with project engineers to ensure packaging projects meet technical objectives.

  • Positive attitude and self-motivation, with a willingness to work in all facets of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation to upgrade overall skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $42.00/hr.
