Job Description Summary

The Simulation Curriculum Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Simulation Director in writing, preparing for and implementing simulation scenarios within the Simulation Center. Responsibilities include setting up encounters, tracking supplies, organizing and overseeing the day-to-day activities. This coordinator will also provide support to the Director of Simulation and complete other duties as assigned by the Director of the Clinical Competency Center.

Job Description

  • Duties and Responsibilities: The Simulation Curriculum Coordinator shall perform the following duties under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Clinical Simulation :

  • Care of Simulation Center :

  • S etup and breakdow n

  • Coordinate for the PES and Simulation Activities Manager the tracking of inventory and readiness of equipment .

  • Maintain Equipment for simulation:

  • 3G Simulators

  • Task trainers - Central Line, Catheterization Task Trainers, Arterial Arms and Wrists .

  • Weekly c oordinate with the Director of Simulation in the development and delivery of simulation experiences for students .

  • Work under the direction of the Director of CCC to prepare and maintain the task trainers needed for events related to the SIM and PE Skills Lab approximately two weeks before the event so that they are operational and set up the day before each event .

  • Support the Simulation Technology Specialist in obtaining up-to-date hardware and software, allowing simulators to function at their full potential.

  • Report any equipment not working correctly to the PES and Simulation Activities Manager for repair/replacement promptly .

  • Coordinate with the PCS Simulation and SP Coordinator regarding the need for Standardized Patients for SIM scenarios and allow two weeks for any changes in the scheduling of SPs .

  • Assist the Director of CCC and other faculty and healthcare professionals from other colleges to incorporate intra-professional cases into simulation sessions .

  • Become proficient in Laerdal 3G Simulation and LLEAP software .

  • Assist the Simulation Director in writing scenarios for extracurricular events and with the organization, training , and execution of these events .

  • Superior organizational skills with an ability to work independently, with strong attention to detail, and an ability to interact diplomatically with a wide variety of constituents and to work effectively as part of a team.

  • The incumbent in the position should demonstrate initiative and be able to handle confidential information with discretion.

    Position Qualifications :

    Eligible candidates for the Simulation Curriculum Coordinator position must:

  • Possess an associate's degree.

  • A minimum of four years experience working in a Simulation Center , with preference given to College or University .

  • Experience will be considered in lieu of education.

  • Proficien cy in all Microsoft Office Suite programs.

    Candidate must also demonstrate :

  • A s trong knowledge or desire to learn academic operations .

  • S trong presentation skills to present in a manner that is accurate and appealing .

  • H ighly motivated with superior organization skills to handle multiple simultaneous projects with minimal oversight .

  • P ossess substantial interpersonal skills to connect with faculty, staff, and students at all levels of the organization .

  • Demonstrate solid interpersonal communication skills, possess excellent judgment, and be highly motivated to perform and adapt professionally to the changing needs of an innovative, high-performing medical school.
