Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
As a Machine Operator, you will operate fabricating machines, such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punch machines that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures.
Responsibilities
Load material into the machine
Perform own setups
Program and repair the machine
Interpret mechanical engineered drawings
Troubleshoot most issues independently
Clean machines and complete preventative maintenance per schedule
Complete necessary paperwork
Report on supply levels
Train others
Essential Skills
Experience in machine operation
General labor skills
Proficiency with hand tools
Ability to use a tape measure
Previous manufacturing experience (school or job-based)
Reliability and punctuality
Flexibility in skillsets and willingness to perform multiple jobs
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work flexible hours
Experience with press brake and fabrication machine shop
Willingness to learn and undergo training
Ability to interpret mechanical engineered drawings

Work Environment
You will work on-site in a manufacturing environment, where you will regularly stand and walk, and occasionally sit, bend, grasp, push/pull, climb, crawl, twist, reach, and work at heights. You may need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. The use of personal protective equipment, such as foot, eye, and ear protection, is required in production locations. Potential exposure to bad weather, excessive heat, and/or excessive noise is possible. The 1st shift hours are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with voluntary Saturdays. The 2nd shift hours are from 2:15 PM to 12:45 AM, Monday through Thursday, with voluntary Fridays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dixon, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
