Position OverviewThis posting is for a Safety Professional to be located at the Dickinson Renewable Diesel Facility in Dickinson, ND. The successful candidate must be able to work closely with all departments and with personnel at all levels of the organization, including operations maintenance, contractors, and other Safety Professionals in support of the Dickinson Renewable Facility's Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing support as the point of contact person for an operations area team on all safety issues.

  • Providing support as the point of contact person for maintenance area team on all safety issues.

  • Supporting the facility emergency response efforts as part of the Incident Command structure.

  • Supporting the facility as a technical resource for safety issues including interpretation of standards and regulations, accident/incident investigations, and maintenance turnaround support.

  • Rotational on call duty including weekends and holidays required.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned programs/procedures.

  • Developing, coordinating, and presenting various safety training courses to facility personnel.

  • Continuously assess safety risks within the area, develop and execute mitigation plans to address risks.

  • Engaging in project related work by participating in the review and approval of plan development, Management of Change reviews and project safety plans.

  • Conducting Field Performance Audits

  • Engaging with contractors to communicate safety expectations and help them meet Company objectives.

  • Reviewing work permits & LOTO, correct deficiencies, identify improvement opportunities and help drive improvement.

  • Providing safety related input in the development and review of operating procedures.

  • Serving as an advocate for first line employees to help them safely complete work.

  • Ensuring OSHA regulatory compliance.

  • Interacting with facility personnel to ensure safety procedures and regulations are followed.

Qualifications:

Minimum

  • High school diploma or GED required with 2 years of relevant experience, or

  • Bachelor’s degree in HES-related field with no relevant experience

  • Must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • A valid driver’s license is required.

  • This candidate should be familiar with OSHA Standards.

Preferred

  • High school diploma or GED required with 4 years of relevant experience, or

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Safety Management- or Industrial Hygiene-related discipline with 2 years of relevant experience

  • GSP, ASP, CSP, or CIH certifications.

  • Experience in the refining or petrochemical industry.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and the ability to develop competence in additional software (e.g. PowerBI, Survey Gizmo).

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote) and the ability develop competence in additional software (e.g. PowerBI).

  • Strong coordination skills, demonstrated through successful interdisciplinary project management (crafts, operations, environmental, inspection, engineering).

  • Leadership abilities to conduct and facilitate meetings with various stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with both frontline workers and leadership.

  • Experience and/or comfort with presenting training material in both hands on and classroom settings

  • Self-motivated, good time management, and mechanically inclined

Travel Expected: Up to 10%

Pay Min/Max: $78,800 - $136,100 Salary

Grade:9-10

Relocation available depending on program eligibility
