Detroit Diesel Corporation Senior Controls Engineer in Detroit, Michigan

Detroit Diesel Corporation seeks a Senior Controls Engineer in Detroit, Michigan. Note, this position requires domestic and international travel up to 10% of the time. Design and implement controls for new production lines and technologies, as well as, modify existing lines for continuous improvement and product changes; Implement and support hardware and software for PLC, CNC & HMI controls; Implement and support device level networks; Implement and support servo and VFD hardware and software; Implement and support manufacturing monitoring systems with emphasis on interfacing to higher level systems; Apply controls technology to new and existing processes to provide optimal manufacturing solutions; Specify, manage and assist with control designs for new manufacturing equipment procurement; Provide controls technical assistance and support to manufacturing operations; Participate in design reviews with suppliers to develop and implement the best overall equipment design; Participate in teams and cross-functional groups.

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or other closely related field, plus 60 months of experience in the job offered or other closely related controls engineering position. Required experience must include experience with: Manufacturing controls equipment hardware and software design practices and standards for Siemens Safety PLC's, HMI's, servo systems and device level networks; Using PC hardware and Microsoft Windows in a networked plant floor environment; Independently utilizing the appropriate project management tools for a project / task; Using Siemens controls. This position requires domestic and international travel up to 10% of the time.
