We are seeking a Purchasing Specialist to ensure efficient operations through procurement, inventory management, logistics, and maintaining supplier relationships. The role involves strategic planning, forecasting, performance monitoring, and risk mitigation. Responsibilities
Procurement and Sourcing: Identify and select suppliers, ensuring they meet quality standards.
Assist with Strategic Planning and Forecasting: Develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational objectives, and forecast future demand to ensure supply availability.
Inventory Management and Control: Determine optimal inventory levels, monitor stock, and track inventory in real-time.
Supplier Relationship Management: Maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable, timely, and quality supplies.
Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and identify potential supply chain risks, implementing measures to mitigate them.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor performance across the supply chain and report on key metrics.
Essential Skills
Recent experience and proficiency with supply chain software SAP.
2+ years of recent experience in procurement or supply chain.
Strong understanding of supply chain processes, inventory management, and logistics.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Material Requirement Planning experience is a plus.
Experience with buying components for electric vehicles is a plus, especially as they manufacture battery charging stations.
Start-up experience is preferred (not looking for OEM experience).
2+ years of recent supply chain leadership experience in a hands-on role.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Work Environment
This position is based onsite at our new Wixom Plant, which started operations in April 2024 as part of our Industrial business. The facility has a start-up vibe and focuses on DMS's Electric vehicle charging systems. You will report to the Business Development Manager and have one direct report, the Warehouse Coordinator. The role offers significant career growth opportunities as the facility continues to expand.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
