  •  Providing mentorship, development, and guidance to staff and field engineers;
  • Assisting with report preparation, review of reports and analyses, and overview of fieldwork procedures;
  • Collaborating with clients on the completion of project deliverables,
  • Providing project management for a variety of projects from conception to finish, including preparation of proposals;
  • Coordinating and overseeing daily field and laboratory activities performed under various project contracts;
  • Providing technical review of field and laboratory data, contractor quality control plans, specifications, and concrete/hot mix asphalt mix design submittals to ensure compliance with established standards, codes, and regulations;
  • Monitoring construction documentation and records for contract compliance and project closeouts;
  • Managing existing client relationships and developing new relationships for business development with new clients and markets;
  • Developing quality assurance plans for hot mix asphalt and concrete;
  • Performing project administration; and
  •  Maintaining backlog and workload for support staff, budgets, change orders/contract modifications, invoicing, and A/R collections.      

*This position supervises three professional construction engineers.   Minimum Qualifications:

  • Michigan Professional Engineer License;
  • Knowledge of managing multiple construction engineering jobs simultaneously;
  • Knowledge of preparing pre-bond service documents including cost support and scheduling support;
  • Knowledge of AASHTOWARE, E-Builder, Field Book and Field Manager;
  • Knowledge of Department of Transporation and Local Agency projects;
  • Knowlecdge of overseeing and coordinating sub-contractors to ensure jobs met clients cost, timeline and quality expectations;
  • Knowledge of managing project submittals for quality assurance including contractors quality control plan for concerete, concrete job mix formulas, and hot mix asphalt formulas;
  • Knowledge of reviewing documentation for the construction and implementation of civil engineering projects;
  • Knowledge of implementing civil designs and verifying adherance to project plans.

Work Location:           6680 Middlebelt Rd., Romulus, MI 48174, This position may telecommute one day per week from home within reasonable commuting distance of Romulus, Michigan. Hours of work: Usually 8:00 a.m. to 5:00  p.m., Monday through Friday
