Robert Half Paralegal in Detroit, Michigan

Description We are seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join our team based in Detroit, Michigan. As a Paralegal, your primary function will be to provide support to 2-4 attorneys by handling cases involving No-Fault/PIP, UM/UIM, & Bodily Injury Suits. This role will require you to perform a variety of tasks such as discovery-related tasks, medical record collection, medical summaries/chronologies, trial preparation, and managing all aspects of the defense of cases from inception through trial.

Responsibilities:

• Handle insurance related defense cases specific to No Fault/PIP coverage, bodily injury and/or UM/UIM claims.

• Interact with the Court, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery as well as coordinating medical exams, scheduling court appearances & discovery.

• Assist in the opening of a new in-house attorney office by providing necessary administrative support.

• Utilize your insurance defense and civil litigation experience to effectively manage cases.

• Maintain organized and accurate customer credit records.

• Work independently while also possessing strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with co-workers, clients, and external parties.

• Thrive in a high-volume environment managing an electronic-based caseload.

• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Utilize your skills in 'Insurance Defense' and 'Insurance Defense Litigation' to effectively handle cases. Requirements

• Relevant experience as a paralegal or in a similar role.

• Proficient in the use of legal research tools and databases.

• Familiarity with insurance defense and insurance defense litigation.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Knowledge of legal terminologies and procedures.

• High level of integrity and professional accountability.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
