Detroit Diesel Corporation Manufacturing Industrial Optimization Engineer III in Detroit, Michigan

Ensure HV safety protocol is fulfilled and adhered to throughout area, engage in close collaboration with CESC; provide supplemental HV training per demand/qualification requirements. Facilitate the transition from project to series production -- utilize PVM structure/Op. Readiness Tools. Develop/maintain worker allocations utilizing Daimler IE standards (TiCon, MTM etc.), visualize via Yamazumi -- regularly identify and eliminate waste, support changepoints, variant integrations etc. Maintain close alignment with Standard Work Instructions (SWI's). Develop/maintain departmental documentation and workflows (MCP's, SWI's, Tool/Equipment Asset Lists, PCC). Support integration or implementation of new tooling, equipment and systems. Monitor process performance in all areas; develop and drive improvement plans. Collaborate with technical functions to ensure effective PPS, knowledge transfers etc. Provide regular training/qualification support to all process and equipment end users; including the preparation and tracking of training material, facilitating training classes, and identification of training/qualification opportunities based on quality, delivery or CI topics. Maintain high engagement with future ePT initiatives, products + production areas (provide capacity as required). Provide backup support/act in supervisor function according to internal coverage requirements. Drive/provide expertise in visual shop floor management tools - leading digitalization and technology revolution measures working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to provide tangible solutions. Evaluate, align and document any requested production/process changes through the Process Change Coordination (PCC) Tool & system. Manage and lead weekly downtime meetings and TIP Review/CI meetings with cross-functional teams. Design control systems and plan production restrictions to ensure the product meets quality standards. Collaborate on complex design changes with the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (TG/M) team and identify the production requirements resulting in process/tooling impacts. Organize, define and support the development/deployment of additional shift models and operational capacity to fulfill capacity requirements.
