Henry Ford Health System EMG Tech I - Full Time in Detroit, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

  • The EMG tech I is an entry level position in the Neurophysiology dept.

  • The EMG tech I will perform the NCS nerve conduction study, including test set-up, electrode application, maintaining patient safety and other related duties.

  • During NCS procedures for which competencies have not been achieved, the EMG tech I will train under direct technical supervision.

  • Once training is complete and all required competencies have been achieved, the EMG tech I will perform under indirect supervision.

  • Henry Ford Hospital Detroit

  • Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital

  • Henry Ford Lakeside Medical Center,

  • Henry Ford Plymouth Medical Center

  • Henry Ford Gross Point North Medical Center

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school Diploma or equivalent required. Medical background, i.e., MA, NA preferred.

  • Six months or more experience working in a patient care environment required.

  • Will be expected to take Registry Board exams within 2 years. Pays attention to detail, computer skills highly desirable.

  • Must have strong communication skills.
