We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Engineer (IC5) to join our Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) AI Services team. Job Responsibilities

As a Software Development Engineer in our Oracle Cloud Infrastructure AI Services team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI applications. You will be at the heart of a team that pushes the boundaries of innovation, working on cutting-edge large language model technologies. Your expertise will drive the development of solutions that have a profound impact on various sectors, including healthcare, code generation, and business document processing. In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain large language models (LLMs) tailored for specific applications, ensuring they meet the high standards required for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate these models into our cloud infrastructure, focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability.

  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation processes to ensure the models' accuracy and efficiency in real-world scenarios.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, applying innovative techniques and methodologies to continually enhance our systems.

  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior team members, nurturing a culture of innovation and technical excellence within the team.

  • Engage with product managers and stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of LLM projects, from conception through deployment and ongoing maintenance, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives and deliver maximum value.

This role demands a candidate who is not only technically proficient but also a collaborative team player, able to lead and inspire, and driven to make a significant impact in the field of AI and cloud computing.

Key Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in software development, with a significant focus on AI and machine learning applications.

  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.

  • Extensive knowledge of large language models and natural language processing techniques.

  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or similar cloud platforms.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex projects.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality software products within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
