Job Opening - Traveling Plumbing Foreman

Location: Projects vary across the state of Iowa

Status: Can start ASAP / Full-Time / Weekly Pay / $100 daily per diem & overnight stay provided

Schedule: Monday - Friday / 1st shift / 8-10 Hour Shifts

Job Description: As a Plumbing Foreman, you will work closely with Journeyman plumbers and oversee plumbing installations and repairs for commercial projects. Your expertise in plumbing, mechanical piping systems, and HVAC will be crucial in delivering high-quality service. You will manage the installation, assembly, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, while also assisting with duct and sheet metal work as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plumbing Installation: Install, assemble, and maintain mechanical piping systems, including water mains, waste pipes, and plumbing fixtures, under the guidance of Journeyman plumbers.

  • Duct Installation: Install various ducts, duct fittings, and Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems as required for HVAC systems.

  • Piping Systems: Join pipes or tubing to equipment and connect to fuel, water, or refrigerant sources to form complete circuits.

  • Chilled and Hot Water Piping: Install chilled and hot water piping for commercial HVAC systems, ensuring proper connections and functionality.

  • Steel Supports: Hang steel supports for ceiling joists to secure pipes and other mechanical systems.

  • Underground Rough-in: Carry out the installation of underground rough-in to top-out and finish phases of plumbing projects.

  • Fixture Connections: Measure, mark, install, and connect fixtures and appliances to exterior water and sewer lines.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in plumbing work, including installation and maintenance.

  • Proficiency in mechanical piping systems installation and maintenance.

  • Experience in joining pipes or tubing effectively.

  • Familiarity with duct fittings and VAV installation.

  • Expertise in chilled and hot water piping installation.

  • Ability to hang steel supports and perform underground rough-in installations.

  • Competence in connecting fixtures and appliances to water and sewer lines.

Qualifications:

  • Valid plumbing license or relevant certifications preferred.

  • 5 years experience in the plumbing field.

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

  • Willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
