JOB SUMMARY
This job provides direction and oversight of their assigned departments, services, or programs. The incumbent is responsible for motivating and cultivating a team to provide excellent service, directing the identification of enhancements, development of strategic initiatives and accountability for the budget. Develops strategic planning and goals that set appropriate targets of execution for work processes within the business unit to meet performance goals and drive strategic change. The incumbent is tasked with developing and leading their teams to attain operational goals that align with the organizational strategic plan within budgetary and quality goals. Directors assure resources are allocated and focused on both short-term project/program implementation and long-term strategic initiatives.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
Develops short, medium, and long-term plans to successfully implement operational policies and achieve business plan/strategic objectives.
Manages highly complex areas requiring a high degree of business knowledge or a major contributor to revenue stream.
Ensures current and evolving needs of internal and external stakeholders are met while maintaining strategic direction.
Drives analysis of various business processes, and develops a deep understanding of key value drivers, and how to improve respective performance metrics
Establish, monitor and work with team to continuously improve all aspects of operations. Oversees end-to-end ownership of processes within scope.
Generates and ensures continuous improvement of owned processes.
Establishes and monitors key performance indicators for team growth and opportunity.

EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's Degree
Substitutions
- 6 years of related and progressive experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree

- Master's Degree
EXPERIENCE
Required
10 years in Strategic Planning, Healthcare, Insurance or Financial Services
5 years in a leadership or management role
5 years in Project and/or Program Management
Preferred
7 years in the Healthcare or Health Insurance Industry
7 years in a large operations environment

Pay Range Minimum:
$108,000.00
Pay Range Maximum:
$201,800.00
Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
