Griffin Health Patient Safety Nurse Specialist (LPN or RN required) in Derby, Connecticut

Description

MAIN FUNCTION: Supports all clinical performance improvement functions and collaborates with other department team members to support patient safety and other functions of the Department of Patient Safety and Care Improvement including Data collection, management, and reporting; meeting preparation and follow-up. Specific areas of responsibility include collaboration with Patient Safety Managers to support high reliability through-out the organization, collaborating with patients, patient representatives, and hospital employees to support patient relations, provide incident investigation and analysis of occurrence and including follow-up and coordination of actions plans.

EDUCATION: LPN/RN

EXPERIENCE: Minimum six months in same or similar position. Computer literacy and the ability to type are required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to input data in multiple web based data platforms and Microsoft Excel Programs.- Ability to function within and give meaningful contribution to a multi-disciplinary improvement team. - Effective communication skills that embody the CHAMP and PEARLS components to work creatively and respectfully within the PSCI department and in multidisciplinary teams on improvements to processes that support high reliability in patient safety science. - Attention to detail with regard to safety science, Root Cause analysis, clinical debriefs.- Customer services skills related to patient relations, service recovery, and grievances.
