Griffin Health Clinical Instructor Phlebotomy/Medical Assistant in Derby, Connecticut
Description
MAIN FUNCTION: Under supervision of the Manager of Griffin Hospital School of Allied Health Careers, the Phlebotomy Clinical Instructor will have the responsibility for the, implementation, management and teaching of a curriculum using a variety of teaching methods in the classroom and clinical setting, which will qualify completing students to sit for state and national testing. Instructor will supervise students at clinical sites.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Maintains all responsibilities below to ensure the safety of patients and employees.
Maintains responsibility for attendance/reliability to ensure that the Hospital is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.
Contributes to the mission of the organization by supporting the Employee Philosophy, Planetree Model of Care, and Organizational Goals.
Prepare syllables and outlines for each class
Provide tutoring and maintain open dialog with student who may need extra help
Presents subject matter to students, utilizing a variety of methods and techniques, such as lectures, discussions, or demonstrations.
Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts; responds to basic student questions. Integrates technology throughout the curriculum.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent, certification of completion in phlebotomy from an accredited school, certified phlebotomy instructor within 2 years of hire. 5 years or more phlebotomy experience.
