Description
Robert Half is supporting the recruiting efforts of a company in the real estate industry to find a Property Accountant. This is a full time, permanent position in DTC. It is 3 days in office, 2 days WFH, and is paying $80-90k + 10% bonus. Additional information and job requirements are below. Responsibilities:
• Reconcile monthly bank statements for properties and ownership entities, investigating any outstanding items as needed.
• Review and analyze all general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Prepare and post journal entries, demonstrating proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other accounting software systems.
• Record and transfer distribution funds and all cash transactions accurately and promptly.
• Assist with budget variance analysis, providing insights and recommendations to management.
• Maintain depreciation and amortization schedules for fixed assets.
• Analyze lender-held escrow and reserves, and prepare lender draws as required.
• Send financial reports to lenders as required by loan documents, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines.
• Record all transactions for ownership entities related to properties in the accountant’s portfolio.
• Assist with audit and tax requests, and other assigned projects, demonstrating a working knowledge of Rent Roll and the ability to perform analysis using trailing 12-month income statements.
• Work closely with other accounting and property staff, independently prepare reports, and make decisions.
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in accounting (will consider finance or business with extra experience)
2+ years experience in property accounting, preferably residential
Nice to have:
Some commercial experience
Real Page, Avid Exchange
Experience with Fixed Assets
