Our Construction Engineering practice helps developers, contractors, designers, fabricators, and erectors efficiently and effectively move projects from initial concept to completion through hands-on involvement in the construction process. Our Denver office prides itself on providing practical and innovative solutions to real-world engineering challenges. Typical projects include steel connection design and erection engineering. Steel Connection Design includes designing steel connections of all complexities with solutions that can be fabricated and erected efficiently. Erection Engineering includes the evaluation of building stability during construction and for temporary loads imposed during construction with the design of shoring, rigging, and development of unique engineering solutions.

The Role

We are seeking a talented Project Engineer for our Denver office. This individual will join the Thornton Tomasetti Construction Engineering team as we expand our local as well as national market presence. As our Denver office continues to grow, there is great potential for upward mobility and career development within this role.

The goals of this role will be to support local and national projects. Tasks will include face-to-face interactions with existing clients as well as the opportunity to develop relationships with new clients. You'll form part of a team delivering innovative engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

Responsible for providing direction, coordination, planning, and completion of engineering projects. Communication with clients to understand the project requirements. Plan and formulate engineering program and organize project staff according to project requirements. Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials using various building codes. Manage project design and deliverables as well as other design team members, supervise the work of engineers and modelers, and direct project staff in preparing contract documents such as drawings and specifications.

Requirements

Degree (Master's preferred) in structural engineering or a related field; an undergraduate in engineering is required. Professional Engineer and/or SE License preferred. Working knowledge of current industry analysis and 3D modeling software. Working knowledge of Tekla is a plus. Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally.

Compensation The rate for this position generally is$80,000-$115,000annually.This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation.Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted byColoradoEqual Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions
