Western Union Pricing Platform Project Manager in Denver, Colorado

Pricing Platform Project M anager - Denver, CO

Are you ready to join a global organization that helps diverse teams stay at the forefront of technology and innovation? Then it’s time to join Western Union as a Pricing Platform Project Manager.

Western Union powers your pursuit.

Western Union is on a mission to modernize its pricing and commercial capabilities from the strategy we employ, the governance we leverage, and the tools and technology we use to make decisions. Critical to that strategy is the rollout of a new Pricing Technology Platform that enables key capabilities and scale of global pricing strategies.

The Pricing Team is seeking a dynamic project manager responsible for overseeing the planning and managing of this highly cross-functional technology and operational project. In this role, you will guide the evolution of the next generation of products from conception to implementation and beyond. The core of this role is project management; however, this person is expected to roll up their sleeves and fill gaps with product, business, and technical teams – owning tasks such as writing business requirements, documenting process flows, helping groom product backlogs, or testing newly developed products. This is not a technical role, but foundational knowledge of data, product, and software development is critical for success.

The individual will be comfortable managing, tracking, and driving operational excellence across the product/technology development, regional and go-to-market, potential vendors, and pricing workstreams. This person will own the project management of the Pricing Technology Platform and report directly to our Senior Manager of Pricing Strategic Planning, who is responsible for the portfolio of Strategic Projects for all of Pricing.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Learn and understand Western Union’s various markets, channels, money transfer products, and business user personas to formulate requirements and deliver impactful solutions that align to business and pricing strategies

  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and workplan: collaborate and align scope, dependencies, action items, and due dates across teams and organizations

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including product, technology, regional and go-to-market, potential software vendors, and pricing to drive project execution and achieve desired outcomes

  • Proactive anticipation and management of roadblocks within the project

  • Schedule and facilitate meetings to granularly track milestones, updates, and action items, assuring deadlines are met, and that any delays or risks are communicated in a timely manner

  • Effective written and verbal communicator, tailoring content to various audiences and stakeholders

  • Develop presentations for Steering Committee and executive-level communications

  • Ensure Business goals aligned to technology outcomes and deliver well documented requirements and artifacts for project

  • Own and manage Jira boards where necessary, feature grooming, and cadences

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or related field

  • 4+ years of progressive management consulting, business analyst, and/or project management experience

  • Project management experience with the ability to drive projects from building requirements to successful implementation

  • Experience leading technology-focused implementations or workstreams

  • Effective communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to articulate risks and issues and accurately analyze problems, explain solutions, and present technical material to end users in a non-technical manner

  • Skilled in working with cross-functional teams to affect collaboration, resolution of issues and community building across multiple functions

  • Results-driven, ambitious, and comfortable operating in an ambiguous environment

  • Thrives in ambiguous environments and able to chart a clear path forward from complex situations

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills

  • Persistent, detail-oriented, and strong bias to action
