Position Titlte: Payroll Specialist Location: Denver CO WHQ Req ID: R24_1273 Time Type: Full time Description: Pay Range $61,425.00-$84,420.00 Annual This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus. The purpose of the Payroll Specialist s role is to assist with ensuring payroll related activities are processed timely and in accordance with JM s payroll processing schedule while providing HR, payroll, tax and benefits transactional support to the organization. Your Day to Day: * Ensure accurate and timely data/file transfers from Client to third party vendors according to the operating schedule and resolve any errors * Assist with the reconciliation of payroll payments, wages, deductions, and applicable adjustments to ensure accuracy and compliance * Perform data entry for payroll, benefits and HR transactions * Support maintaining the validity and integrity of payroll system data and ensure all payroll and tax transactions are compliant with Federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policy, processes and practices * Research issues and provide recommendations for resolution/correction related to payroll processing activities and outputs (checks, reports, files) * Stay up to date with tax laws and employment regulations. * Execute and respond to audit requests * Update payroll, tax and HR process documentation as directed * Manage payroll inbox and respond to inquiries * Perform compliance activities for unclaimed property payroll checks * Develop and run reports to support plants and other groups within the organization * Partner with internal teams to identify process improvements * Support the leave of absence adjustments related to payroll * Manage unemployment for local and support field inquiries * Manages daily mail, intaking and delivering incoming and managing all outgoing * Process/support all court orders to include and not limited to garnishment and tax levy s in ADP * Back up to Time and Labor specialist * Support transactional processing for Corporate as needed * Create and deliver training as necessary * May be required to perform other related duties as assigned What You Bring to the Team: * Bachelor s degree with 3 years experience or minimum of 5 years multi-State payroll experience including taxes and garnishments, pay calculations, multi-state taxation rules, wage and hour laws and functional payroll processing. * 1-year experience in a manufacturing (hourly and salary) union environment preferred. * Payroll certification preferred or willing to obtain within next two years. * Solid understanding of payroll compliance regulations #D #P We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
