This position is responsible for data analysis, radio code plug configuration, monitoring, maintenance and quality assurance of the organizations Mobile Technologies Group (MTG) applications, hardware, and functional business processes. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential: Provides tier 1 and tier 2 hardware technical support to the organizations MTG systems that impact public ridership and internal operations to include direct liaison with the ITS System Administration team and vendors and provide tier 1 system support to coordinate technical efforts. Monitors and analyzes CAD/AVL and other critical MTG onboard equipment utilizing external data storage systems to gather cyclical patterns as well as interfaces with dependent systems within the MTG systems. Performs trend analysis, creates work tickets as needed to support the organizations MTG technologies and evaluates the effect of upgrades and enhancements to the software and hardware for RTDs fleet of buses, trains, and support vehicles. Develops, documents, maintains and presents user policies and procedural processes for MTG systems. Analyzes, identifies and makes recommendations for potential uses of ITS/MTG systems to enhance and improve service to the public. Responsible for overseeing inventory counts, stocking levels of warehouse and MTG vehicles, coordinate with inventory control to ensure stocking levels are accurate and perform quality control on new parts from vendors. Other: All job-related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree in computer science, Business, Telecommunications or a closely related field. A minimum of three years of experience supporting complex mission critical systems utilizing data analysis and warehousing tools in an enterprise data storage environment such as Power BI, Oracle, Trapeze EAM A minimum of three years of experience in ITS/MTG technologies hardware and software support such as automatic passenger counters, CAD/AVL, paratransit and other manifest systems, fare collections systems, automatic stop announcement systems, transit based mobile and web applications, electronic signage and content applications, real time information systems, scheduling and operations management systems. A minimum of three years of experience in the analysis, installation, administration, and troubleshooting of mission critical hardware such as CAD/AVL and CCTV systems. Proficiency in technological networking principles to include Layer 1-4 networking such as Cat5/Cat6, fiber optics, Ethernet, routing and Wi-Fi. Proficiency in diagnostic, monitoring, and programming radio code plugs in a digital trunking radio network. Proficiency in land mobile radio and cellular radio communication principles and systems to include Wi-Fi data routing rules and regulations in Cybersecurity rules. Proficiency with programing and script language such as PowerShell, Python, SQL, Visual Basic Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to influence management and users to obtain cooperation with accepting and utilizing new ITS/MTG systems through training utilizing a high level of coaching and negotia ion skills to change behavior. Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.
