The Department of Sociology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences seeks to hire a part-time Lecturer to teach Sociology 5183: Quantitative Analysis, a graduate level statistics course. The course is scheduled to be offered remotely via Zoom. This position will be supervised by the Sociology department chair. Position Emphasis: Lecturers will be hired to teach specific classes based on qualifications. This position is remote and located in the CLAS Sociology Department. Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Sociology or related field. Preferred Qualifications: At least one year of online, college teaching experience. Required: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Competencies: Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution. Outstanding customer service skills. Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion Understanding of Ethical Reasoning and Logic, Language and Scientific Reasoning Salary and Benefits: The hiring rate for this position has been established at $1,452 per credit hour (lower division), $1,597 per credit hour (upper division), or $1,755 per credit hour (graduate level). The above salary rate represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate at time of posting. This part-time appointment is not eligible for group health, life insurance, retirement benefits or overtime compensation.
