Lecturer, Clinical Supervision - Couple and Family Therapy Program

Job Summary : The School of Education & Human Development will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers for future appointments to temporary, part time, non-tenure-track positions in the Couple and Family Therapy Program. Lecturers are limited to two courses per term.

Position openings are available for Fall, 2023 (August 21, 2023 - December 11, 2023) and Spring, 2024 (January 16, 2024 - May 6, 2024).

The Lecturer will be responsible for teaching one of the following courses: CMFT 5910/5911 - Practicum in Couple and Family Therapy or CMFT 5930 - Internship in Couple and Family Therapy.

CMFT 5910/5911 : These courses provide clinical supervision for MA students in Couple and Family Therapy at the practicum site.

CMFT 5910 : Format includes group supervision conducted online via zoom. Students are guided in case conceptualization and planning, self of therapist considerations, application of multicultural and intersectional lens in CFT, and includes evaluation of written assignments. This course meets online on Tuesdays 1 - 3 pm.

CMFT 5911 : supervisors meet with 1-2 pairs of students in individual and dyadic supervision and provide live supervision weekly at the practicum site (CU Denver Student and Community Counseling Center). Scheduling is flexible and meetings are conducted online via zoom. Supervisors may be asked to assist with emerging or urgent clinical situations as reported by their supervisees.

CMFT 5930 : This course provides clinical supervision for MA students in Couple and Family Therapy for clinical work conducted at internship sites. The course is structured in the format of group supervision where students are guided in case conceptualization and planning, self of therapist considerations, application of multicultural and intersectional lens in CFT, and includes evaluation of written assignments.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree in Couple and Family Therapy or equivalent with training in family systems therapy.

  2. Licensed or license-eligible (MFT-C) in Marriage and Family Therapist.

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

  2. AAMFT Approved supervisor or supervisor candidate or have completed training in systemic supervision.

  3. Experience in supervising graduate students in Couple and Family Therapy or related field.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of AAMFT ethical standards and Colorado state educational and mental health statutes

  2. Knowledge of MFT licensure and credentialling

Anticipated Pay Range: The salary for this position has been established at $4,750 for a fully-enrolled 3-credit course in 2023.

The salary for this position is based upon course enrollment. Payment amount per enrolled student varies according to the established rate of tuition for the specific class or program.

The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This part-time appointment is not eligible for group health, life insurance, and retirement benefits.

As of January 1, 2021, Lecturer positions will accrue sick leave at a rate of 0.034 hours per hour worked with a maximum accrual of 48 hours per fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

This will be a semester-by-semester appointment, with the possibility of renewal. If your appointment in this position continues, you will be notified in writing each term.
