Job Summary and Qualifications
At HCA/HealthONE, we recognize the important role our Lab Departments play in our success. We are seeking a Micro-Lab Assistant for our center to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high-quality, efficient care. Here is some of what you can expect from being a Lab Assistant with us: you will perform all technical procedures and maintain knowledge of all procedures and protocols pertinent to the department.
You will perform all technical procedures, maintain knowledge of all procedures and protocols pertinent to the department.
You will collect and processes specimens on patients of all ages as required.
You will perform test requests and charts results on patients with many different clinical conditions (from screening of healthy outpatients up to and including the major, complex intensive care patients) and all age ranges from newborns to geriatric patients.
You will assist in the clerical duties of the department.
You will communicate with other allied health care professionals and patients according to job requirements.
Qualifications you will need for this role:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's degree in medical technology, Biomedical Sciences, Biology or Chemistry is preferred.
2 years' experience preferred.
Knowledge of laboratory methods and specimen collection, culture set up, storage, transport and testing requirements based on test requested or ordered.
General knowledge of laboratory accreditation and regulatory compliance requirements
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to train others
