Job Description

AECOM is seeking a talented and experienced Digital Solution Architect to join our digital practice areas within US. You will play a crucial role in translating business requirements into technical solutions, designing, and overseeing the implementation of complex systems, and ensuring alignment between business goals and technology strategies. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, including business leaders, developers, and project managers, to deliver innovative and scalable solutions that meet our clients' needs.

This position will primarily be a remote/virtual position that can be based from a variety of US location, and will require an occasional commute into the office with up to 30% required travel. This position will support the US West Region.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $100,000.00 - $149,000.00.

About Digital @ AECOM

As a member of the Global Enterprise Capabilities team, you will work with leaders from around the Globe region to engrain and define our digital services, to share best practices, to leverage global capabilities and to support North America opportunities and projects. While services and solution management will be set globally, they will be tailored for implementation within the regions, individual business line verticals, and for each client.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Translation and Engagement

  • Act as a steward between business stakeholders, clients, and technical teams to facilitate the development of solutions, selection of technology, and develop offerings to identified client challenges.

  • Translate highly complicated and robust digital solutions into vernacular and domain specifics that align with varying levels of domains, leadership, and clients.

  • Diagram and visually conceptualize (in real-time) use cases, alternatives, and solution concepts to enable alignment between business stakeholders and technical teams.

Alignment with Global Teams Emerging Capabilities

  • Work closely with cross-functional global teams, including developers, business analysts, project managers, and executives. Collaborate effectively with different stakeholders, build consensus, and drive alignment towards common goals.

Engagement Leadership

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between business requirements, technical designs, and implementation efforts.

  • Lead the development of detailed scopes of work, technical approaches, and fee proposals.

Quality Through Delivery

  • Remain continuously engaged throughout the end solution implementation to ensure quality and alignment with business stakeholders and client’s needs.

Technical Architecture & Advisory

  • Design end-to-end technology solutions that are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business objectives.

  • Provide analysis and recommendations on the level of technology solution based on technical and broader requirements (scale of project/client, cost vs. ROI, support, resource capabilities, etc.).

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience in digital project and solution delivery in a consulting environment.

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect or similar role, with a track record of designing and implementing complex systems and applications.

  • Strong ability to articulate conceptual architecture in a project and pre-sales environment, and explain options and tradeoffs between COTS, low-code, and custom development in order to realize the client’s business objectives.

  • Strong track record of client presentation, communication, and technical workshop facilitation.

  • Deep experience in development of scopes of work, technical approaches, and fee proposals in a consulting environment.

  • Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.

  • Strong knowledge of low code database, app development, automation, and business intelligence platforms within the Microsoft Power Platform.

  • Proficiency in architecting solutions on cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Adept at analyzing complex problems, identifying root causes, and developing innovative solutions. Be able to think critically and creatively to address technical challenges and business requirements effectively.

  • Present strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate team members, provide guidance and mentorship, and foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

  • Strong analytical skills analyze business requirements, technical constraints, and other factors to design optimal solutions. Be able to evaluate different options, weigh trade-offs, and make informed decisions based on data and insights.

  • Have a customer-centric mindset, with a keen understanding of user needs and preferences to be able to prioritize delivering value to customers and strive to create solutions that enhance user experience and satisfaction.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in an architectural, engineering, and/or construction consulting services environment.

  • Experience and working domain knowledge in the infrastructure services industry.

  • Experience in conceptual design tools like Figma or Adobe XD

  • Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect.

  • Experience in program and project management technology toolsets and information systems (Microsoft, Oracle, InEight, Unifier, Smartsheet).

  • Working knowledge of application of AI, Machine Learning, and low code packaged AI solutions.
