JOB SUMMARY:

The Client Manager is expected to independently monitor the performance of assigned borrowers, identify financial trends, provide financial statement analysis, and ensure the portfolio remains compliant and current. The Client Manager should strive to build strong working relationships with all clients to ensure open communication and improved understanding of the client current and projected needs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with originations team prior to loan closing to prepare for the transfer of the new client loan account to the Client Manager

  • Ensure loans are performing by tracking performance of client operations. Perform financial statement analysis to monitor trends and new developments that may impact loan performance. Monitor payment performance and address and resolve delinquencies in a timely manner. As applicable, monitor compliance with loan covenants.

  • Ensure timely and accurate risk rating assessments and inform management of developing problems.

  • Communicate with other relevant parties to establish a thorough understanding of an account relationship.

  • Adhere to procedures for data entry into AblSoft and other systems to ensure accuracy of data. Maintain stewardship of credit files to document all material events and actions.

  • Respond to requests from clients for additional funding or modifications to existing loans.

  • Prepare periodic reports and summaries to keep management informed on portfolio performance, as required.

  • Develop relationships with the client that will enable a high functioning relationship for both parties. Strive to ensure all client needs are met in a timely manner and deliver the highest level client experience.

  • Communicate with client and or supervisor to resolve loan issues or questions.

  • Begin to develop knowledge of and build relationships with key constituents in regional market including venture capital and private equity firms, law firms, accounting firms, and related.

  • Attend in-market client and prospect events as needed to expand network and promote Banc of California brand.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Information Program (CIP), Right to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA, state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)

  • Strong analytical and communication skills required, together with an entrepreneurial work ethic

  • Ability to analyze financial statements (profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements)

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

  • Strong analytical skills and resourcefulness necessary to complete in-depth industry and market analyses

  • Superior interpersonal, writing, and oral communication skills

  • Proficient with PowerPoint, Word and Excel

  • There will be some on-the-job training; however, the candidate should be a “self-starter”

  • 2-3 years related experience or public accounting preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required

  • CPA or MBA preferred

SALARY RANGE: $71,705.92 - $89,643.84USD; Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
