Position Summary
The Intake Clinician is responsible for the the coordination of assessments of incoming patients and the initiation of the admissions process with the Intake Specialist. The Intake Clinician provides technical assistance to the discharge planning process under the direction of the Intake Director.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Patients are assessed and stabilized prior to leaving hospital or admission to hospital arranged
In house assessments are completed with treatment referral recommendations made and documented
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with hospital staff, physicians, and administration

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Registered Nurse or Master's Degree in a human relations field.
Experience: Preferably two or more years experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting.
Licensure: Licensed to practice in the State of Texas as a mental health professional (LMSW, LPC (any), LMFT (any), or RN).
Additional Requirements: An extensive working knowledge of the DSM-V, ICD-10, and the Mental Status Exam. Additionally, an extensive working knowledge of the Addiction and Recovery field preferred. CPR certification and training in appropriate use of CPI Non-violent Crisis Intervention before department orientation and prior to assisting in a restraining process. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
