Your day to day
We are currently recruiting for a Corporate Communications Executive on a 1 year Fixed Term Contract who will be responsible for supporting the Europe communications team to deliver internal & external communications with a focus on promoting and protecting IHG’s reputation with colleagues, owners and industry stakeholders
Key responsibilities & activities will include:
Supporting with media relations including taking a role in the crisis ‘duty rota’. Handle initial enquiries when they come through from hotels and journalists. Fact-find within the business to answer queries
Working with business stakeholders to deliver key internal events such as town halls, immersion days and CR activities
Supporting the writing and distribution of the drumbeat of internal communication, such as Merlin articles and local newsletters. Where appropriate engage the Content team for support
Supporting the development and execution of communications plans for key strategic projects and news relevant to hotels, owners and the market
Maintaining distribution lists for key communications channels e.g. EmailOpen. Distribute comms through digital channels as required
Building and maintaining a communications calendar for the Europe team
Coordinating regular reporting and metrics for internal and external communications activity in Europe
What we need from you
Educated to degree level or strong evidence of written and thinking skills
Strong commitment to corporate communications. Ideally with 2+ years of comms experience post education. Hospitality and B2B experience ideal but not required. Experience of a fast-paced corporate environment and managing a complex work-plan.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
Media relations experience including crisis handling and/or evidence of sound judgement
Excellent English and high-quality written communication skills.
French and German language skills are preferential
Ability to influence at a range of levels from hotel ops through to BU leadership
Ability to manage people and agencies. Strong organisation skills and attention to detail
Ability to support and contribute to the delivery and thinking behind 360’ communication campaigns hitting a range of channels and audiences
Acting as a genuine team player and collaborating with colleagues across the GCA matrix
Ability to communicate and explain complex issues in a simple manner

Our picturesque office in Denham, Buckinghamshire is easily accessible on the A4/M40. Alternatively, many of our employees commute from London – there are regular trains from London Marylebone taking approx. 20 – 35 minutes, or the Metropolitan or Piccadilly tube lines go to Uxbridge where we provide a free shuttle bus.
