Job Description:
As a MIG Welder you will be responsible for welding various types of steel and alloys used in the fabrication of playground equipment. The primary materials include galvanized steel (90% of projects), stainless steel, aluminum, and black steel, along with alloys. The materials are typically thinner gauges, up to 1/8" thick, requiring precision and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Perform MIG welding based on blueprints
Conduct fixture welding, moving materials into welding bays
Weld galvanized steel and other materials
Work with materials ranging from thinner gauges to 1/8" thick
Lift up to 50 lbs. during the welding process
Skills:
MIG welding
Blueprint reading
Fixture welding
Galvanized welding
Tape measure proficiency (up to 1/32")
Fitting skills
Weld shop experience
Flux core welding
Fabrication skills
Experience with Mild steel and other alloys
Qualifications:
Nice to Haves:
2-year welding degree
Experience in pipe welding
Must Haves:
Minimum 1-year recent experience (or equivalent schooling) in MIG welding
Ability to read welding blueprints (will be tested)
Proficient in reading a tape measure with precision up to 1/32"
Capability to lift 50 lbs. with no restrictions
