ASM Global Scheduling Manager in Del Mar, California

Summary

ASM, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Scheduling Manager for Premier Food Services, Inc. This opening is for the 2024 San Diego County Fair and the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club’s Summer Live Meet horse racing season. The anticipated start of this position is mid-May. The basic function of the Scheduling Manager is to oversee daily operations in the Scheduling Department as well as perform all duties associated with Scheduling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversee scheduling efforts to ensure events are staffed with correct level of employees.

  • Create reports and forecasts to understand scheduling needs and trends.

  • Work with staff to create schedule, fill gaps and cover contingencies.

  • Make technology selections that increase efficiency.

  • Coordinates work schedules for scheduling staff at the direction of the department Managers.

  • Supervises daily activity to ensure all incoming calls are answered keeping within the desired service level.

  • Responsible for monitoring calls coming into the sick/call-off request line through the answering service each morning and distributing messages appropriately to include all managers and supervisors in that department.

  • Types the daily schedule and sends out nightly messages to employees and managers.

  • Assist with orientation of new personnel.

  • Train and communicate new policies and procedures to Employees.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Discipline of employees who have not followed company scheduling policies.

Education and/or Experience

  • Must be able to count and do basic arithmetic calculations.

  • Must read and write English at high school level. Must be able to

communicate effectively verbally.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to relate to people on the telephone, in a pleasant, business-like manner. Detail oriented.

  • Familiar with computer operations.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.

  • Must hear well enough to answer and converse on phone. Must see to read forms, computer terminals, and printouts.

  • Experience with unions and seniority lists is a plus.

    Compensation

    This position’s compensation will range from $24.00 to $26.00 per hour.

  • Works well with supervisors and all others in positions of authority.

  • Maintains cooperative working relationship with all personnel.

  • Promotes a high degree of morale and spirit of motivation within the office. This

includes the degree of cooperation, communication and coordination between this

function and other employees.

  • Demonstrates ability to tactfully handle difficult situations.

  • Inside and sedentary, requires sitting for long periods.
