About the Role

The Director of Tax Operations oversees income tax provision, reporting, and accounting. They also support tax planning initiatives. Exceptional technical expertise, leadership skills, and collaboration in a dynamic business environment are essential in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the preparation and review of global income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740. It also includes preparing Form 10-Q and 10-K tax disclosures.

  • Reviewing, reconciling and maintaining tax reserves (FIN 48 and FAS 5) and related disclosures. Also, payable reconciliations, and assisting with recording quarterly journal entries.

  • Absorbing general knowledge of the Medicare healthcare industry, prescription drug plan, vision, and dental enrollments.

  • Preparing quarterly deferred tax and valuation allowance reconciliations and record quarterly income tax provision journal entries.

  • Managing monthly income tax account reconciliations and maintaining income tax payable receivable summaries.

  • Collaborating with the federal and state compliance teams to validate the provision-to-return true-up adjustments. Also reconciling the ending income tax payable balance.

  • Preparing various analytic summaries for management review, including preparation and delivery of quarterly presentations.

  • Preparing tax provision package for external tax auditor. Also, coordinate responses to inquiries about the income tax provision.

  • Maintaining SOX documentation to ensure procedures over internal controls are in compliance with company policies.

  • Assisting with monitoring tax legislation changes, researching and resolve technical tax issue.

  • Continuing to develop a system/approach to ensure accuracy and completeness of global tax provision support.

  • Ensuring all deadlines are met in a timely and efficient manner. This includes managing, training and mentoring junior staff and contractors, including managing project deadlines.

Requirements

  • Have a CPA with a minimum of 10+ years of corporate tax experience in the Big 4 or industry. Also, hands-on experience with multi-national tax operations.

  • Have deep understanding of ASC 740 principles. Also, have experience in leading the completion of quarterly income tax accounting and disclosures.

  • Able to execute on Partnership tax.

  • Have ability to take initiative and technical knowledge of corporate income tax principles.

  • Have BA/BS in Business/Accounting or equivalent.

  • Have analytical and organizational skills along with excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills.

  • Able to work independently in a busy environment.

Salary Pay Range

Minimum :

102,400 USD

Maximum :

162,600 USD
