Emerson Senior Product Owner in DEBRECEN, Hungary
Product Owners focus on delivering customer value by prioritizing and defining the work for individual verticals. The Product Owner (PO) is accountable for maximizing the value of the product or service delivered by the development team. They are the key decision-maker when it comes to defining product requirements, prioritizing the backlog, and ensuring that the team is focused on delivering the most important features that align with business objectives. The Product Owner is the bridge between stakeholders (such as customers, business leaders, and end-users) and the development team.
Purpose: Responsible for building and prioritizing Product Team’s backlog and understanding business strategy. This position is 80% execution, 20% strategy.

The Product Owner is accountable for ensuring the product meets both business and customer needs. They own the product backlog, define the product requirements, prioritize features, and engage with collaborators to ensure the team is delivering the most valuable product features. The Product Owner plays a key role in the product’s success by guiding the team, validating outcomes, and continuously iterating based on feedback and performance metrics.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Backlog Management: Maintain, prioritize, and refine the product backlog l to the agreed business outcomes with a focus on quick value delivery. Ensure backlog items are well-defined, estimated, and ready for development.
Customer Collaboration: Work closely with business partners to understand business strategy, create requirements and define success criteria. Act as the liaison between the development team and customers.
Vision and Strategy: Validate product strategy with data. Define and communicate the product vision and strategy for the vertical. Ensure alignment with portfolio and organizational goals.
Value Delivery: Prioritize features and work items based on business value, user impact, and dependencies. Define key value levers within the scope of the product and build an outcome-based roadmap. Validating how the work of the development team meets business outcomes. Set product important metrics/SLAs, measure outcomes, and adjust priorities as needed.
Release Planning: Collaborate with the Product Team to plan releases and manage expectations. Provide input on delivery timelines and scope.
Collaboration with key partners: Collaborate and work closely with appropriate key partners (i.e. Portfolio Architect, UX, etc.).
Who You Are: You effectively communicate in various settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels. You delegate and distribute assignments and decisions appropriately.
For this Role, You will Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
3-5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in an enterprise IT applications environment
Understanding of master data concepts, particularly around customer data
Ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and user stories for development teams
Strong team member management skills, with the ability to align priorities across cross-functional teams
Experience managing a product backlog, prioritizing features based on business value, and ensuring on-time delivery
Skilled at leading Agile ceremonies, facilitating effective team collaboration, and driving incremental value delivery
Strong communication skills in English—spoken, written, and visual—with the ability to clearly explain complex topics in simple, easy-to-understand terms.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
Experience working with Customer Master Data platforms
Solid understanding of systems integration, APIs, and data synchronization challenges
Demonstrated ability to influence at multiple levels of the organization, including executive customers
Experience with portfolio-level coordination or delivery across multiple teams or programs
Background in IT applications
Experience in setting performance goals and measuring success for data platforms or applications
