What You’ll Be Doing

This position leads the Percepta Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and Percepta’s overall PMO practice (which includes department-level project managers). This leader will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of project management projects under their remit, alignment with the strategic direction of Percepta, and consistency in project management processes, tools and communication across the entire practice.

The Head of Enterprise Project Management will be forward-thinking with an entrepreneurial mindset, expert in effective project management practices, able to collaborate with senior leadership across Percepta and client organizations, and capable of ensuring consistency in defined project management practices throughout the organization. They will have experience building, maintaining, and embedding progressive project management practices across multi-functional teams that drive successful outcomes.

During a Typical Day, You’ll

Governance & Leadership

  • Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in project management principles and disciplines to direct reports as well as overall Percepta project management community / practice.

  • Establish and manage project governance structures and systems (e.g., portfolio management, stakeholder communications, risk management plans) with input and buy-in from key cross-functional management teams.

  • Facilitate and drive decision-making, issue escalation or resolution, and effective status communication within and across projects.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project management specialists.

EPMO Management and Operations

  • Oversee all projects, analyze status reports, identify risks and issues, and ensure mitigation plans are in place for at risk projects.

  • Monitor key project metrics and health of project portfolios, report dashboard insights to the Executive Leadership Team.

  • Drive process improvements by analyzing project data patterns and leveraging lessons learned.

  • Own the development and assessment of the EPMO portfolio of key projects by implementing a continuous process of identifying new projects, prioritization of all projects, and execution.

  • As a player-coach, step in to manage enterprise projects as needed.

Establishing and Maintaining Project Management Methodology

  • Develop, implement, and refine standardized project management methodologies, policies, procedures, tools, and templates across the organization.

  • Ensure EPMO artifacts are created and signed off at appropriate times based on the project management framework.

  • Establish new processes, procedures, and best practices for the EPMO group including a project prioritization and governance model that the project clearinghouse committee and the EPMO will utilize.

  • Ensure that project management practices and methodologies are in line with industry best practice and evolving trends.

Collaboration & Adoption

  • Cultivate relationships and credibility with senior leadership, client partners, and other key stakeholders.

  • Build and foster collaborative relationships across the organization, remaining informed of new initiatives/processes.

  • Ensure project management knowledge and skills are maintained in EPMO and across the PMO practice.

  • Take on special projects that leverage your strengths and support tactical or strategic business needs.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business, project management or similar.

  • MBA or advanced degree in a quantitative discipline is a plus.

  • Active Project Management related certifications, such as PMP/Agile/Lean a plus

  • 12 years of Project Management experience including execution of large-scale projects working with cross-functional international teams.

  • Demonstrated prior experience with building/maintaining project management teams and organizational project management practices.

  • Work experience within a BPO contact center organization.

  • Experience working with senior leadership and senior level clients.

  • Proven experience leading and managing virtual multi-discipline teams.

  • Experience in entrepreneurial organization or start-up preferred.

  • Expert knowledge of Project Management methodologies, processes, tools, systems and best practices.

  • Influencing and persuasion skills with the ability to enthuse and inspire multidisciplinary teams and build successful relationships at all levels.

  • Clear decision-making ability with the facility to judge complex situations and assess when to escalate issues.

  • Able to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation.

  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) with a capacity to present, discuss and explain issues coherently and logically both in writing and verbally to senior business & technology colleagues.

  • Discreet, maintains confidentiality.

  • Proficient in Office 365/Excel/PowerPoint, experience with working with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint sites, PM software and tools such as Smartsheet, Visio, Asana.

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
