School Social Worker for the 2023-2024 School Year in Dearborn Heights
The Role:
AnthroMed Education is hiring a Social Worker who will support elementary-age students on-site in Dearborn Heights. This Social Worker will join a small school district and provide services in multiple elementary buildings.
We are looking for an individual who seeks out collaboration and is comfortable juggling more than one building. The ideal candidate will be excited to be a part of the community within the district and passionate about using their skills to make real, positive change.

School Social Worker Responsibilities:
Provide school-based counseling services to children with IEPs and Gen Ed/consult as needed.
Conduct services in individual and/or group settings based on student’s needs
Create a safe and welcoming environment for students to encourage social, emotional, and educational growth
Develop methods of tracking the effectiveness of behavior support plans through the analysis of behavioral data and make changes to the plan as necessary
Participate in IEP meetings and maintain records of assessments and progress monitoring
Conduct Functional Assessments that incorporate multiple data/information sources, including formal/informal observation of behaviors that interfere with learning
Organize classroom meetings, social skills groups, etc on identified areas of concern for the students
Connect students and families with applicable community mental health organizations
Offer staff development on issues related to social-emotional-environmental factors that impact learning
Promote student self-advocacy and independence by encouraging each student to identify his/her needs and preferences
Collaborate with families about the educational planning for each student
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Master's Degree in Social Work
Must possess S310 form- Approval to work in MI schools
Previous school social work experience is preferred.
