Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Premier Resorts and Management, Inc. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

This is an exciting position at our soon to open Renaissance Daytona Beach Oceanfront Hotel in sunny Daytona Beach, Florida. This position is part of the pre-opening team of the hotel. We are looking for an energetic self-starter that will be responsible for hte daily income audit of the hotel, as well as cash reconciliations and basic human resources functions, such as on-boarding and payroll.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Work within designated hotel accounting software to produce and verify financial reports according to the Monthly Accounting Calendar. (35%)

  2. Prepare, review and reconcile daily postings, accruals, various general ledger accounts and bank statements to ensure accurate financial information is available. (15%)

  3. Compile, prepare, back-up and analyze various financial reports and statements to provide accurate, timely information to hotel management, corporate and the owners, including weekly, monthly and annual reporting. (10%)

  4. Compile, prepare, back-up and analyze period-end data, including, but not limited to, food and beverage costs and inventories (gift shop where applicable) to provide information and recommendations to management on current procedures and controls. Assist with the preparation of cost potentials as required. (10%)

  5. Oversee the accounts receivable function and performance at all hotels to ensure Aging is within the 90% in 90 days or less benchmark (5%)

  6. Review and monitor internal control procedures at hotel. Areas included are bank deposits, cash handling, Food & Beverage, Cashiering, Room Operations, etc. Make changes as needed. (5%)

  7. On-boarding of new associates, prepare bi-weekly payroll (20%)

Knowledge and Skills:

Education: A four year college degree (Accounting preferred) or equivalent education/experience.

Experience: Experience required by position is from three to five years of employment in related position within the hospitality industry.

Skills and Abilities: Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the finance and hospitality professions.

Travel required: Minimal; to the Corporate office (local)

Hours Required: This is a full-time position, scheduled days and times may vary based on business levels
