Indorama Ventures Lab Technician in Dayton, Texas

Job Description :

Indorama Ventures is currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as a Laboratory Technician at our Dayton, Texas site. In this role, you will be responsible for providing analytical data to process units and shipping to ensure control is maintained throughout the plant.

What will be expected from you?

  • Test and analyze product samples using equipment and instruments such as Karl Fisher, auto titrators, pH meters, GC, HPLC, IC and NIR, etc. adhering to documented methods of test and schedules, and standard laboratory operating procedures.

  • Assist Laboratory Supervisor in coordinating and organizing laboratory work to meet the immediate and anticipated requirements of the Operating and Shipping departments.

  • Coordinated efforts with the Laboratory Supervisor to review, retest, and verify any questionable product quality. Request product samples from product streams, production units, outgoing product shipments, storage tanks, etc.

  • Perform special laboratory analyses, working on special projects or assignments as required.

  • Ensure the accuracy of analytical testing results and verifying such results. Maintain laboratory equipment; reporting malfunctions; troubleshooting and performing repairs as necessary.

  • Coordinates efforts with Laboratory Supervisor that adequate laboratory supplies are maintained, including the preparation and standardization of laboratory solutions.

  • Maintain current knowledge of safety practices for laboratory and for chemicals used and handled (MSDS, HAZWOPER, etc.); responsible for the adherence to safety instructions applicable to work performed and for adherence to general safety instructions appl.

  • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of methods of test, techniques, procedures, skills, SAP functionality, etc. as related to all laboratory jobs.

  • Become a member of the Emergency Response Team (responsible for communications and muster point activities).

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

  • Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related science discipline preferred or Associates Degree plus 3 years of specific laboratory technician experience in a petrochemical, refinery, or medical industry.

  • Must have or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker identification Credential (TWIC).

  • Must be able to wear a respirator and carry at least 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to climb stairs.

  • Must be able to verbally communicate across plant communication systems.

  • Must be able to hear radio communications and all audible alarms.

  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license and wear corrective lenses when required.

  • Must have effective oral, written and computer communication skills.

  • Must have experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office software and email programs.
