Your Title: Manufacturing Engineer Job Location: Dayton, OH Our Department: CTCT Are you a Manufacturing Engineer ready for your next challenge? What You Will Do As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be working with Design Engineers and Suppliers to ensure production of high quality, consistent parts for grade control installations. The focus is on installation parts - cables/harnesses/brackets/kits - that use a domestic and international supply base. You will build relationships with suppliers, review their quality documents, and manage communication, and resolve issues between suppliers and design engineers. Understand manufacturing methods and guide engineers on best practices Conduct DFM/RR (Design for Manufacturing/Ramp Readiness) reviews with suppliers Review supplier PFMEAs Assist with dual sourcing/re-sourcing activities as well cost reductions Assist with onboarding new suppliers Subject matter expert in FA (first article) Review supplier PPAPs and control plans Understand OEM requirements and oversee the preparation of documentation to meet those requirements for installation parts (PPAP, other) Initiate/manage PCN (Production Change Notification) process for manufacturer requested changes Create and review validation plans for manufacturing changes Understand end of line test/inspection process and analyze yield information to improve yields/reduce defects Facilitate root cause analysis for quality issues attributed to suppliers Assist with return parts failure analysis What Skills & Experience You Should Bring Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Agricultural/Electrical Engineering or relevant experience Effective written and oral communication skills Ability to communicate with people in multiple geographic locations including flexibility to sometimes work early mornings or evenings to attend meetings Ability to schedule and meet deadlines Ability to understand and oversee details needed to manufacture a project Passion for creating and improving processes Enthusiasm and interest in work on and around construction machinery Additional Experience Desired Facilitating and reviewing PFMEA's, control plans, DFMs and process flows with suppliers PPAP experience Metal fabrication experience Cable/Harness manufacturing experience Experience with GD&T Experience with Creo or other solid modelling package Advanced experience with MS Excel or Google Sheets About Trimble Trimble is an industrial technology company transforming the way the world works by delivering solutions that enable our customers to thrive.
