Job Description Summary
GE Aerospace Systems Electric Power is hiring a Lead Development Quality Assurance (DQA) Engineer to support the Dayton, OH and Vandalia, OH facilities. This role will be primarily supporting the NPI Accelerator Lab build quality of development products in Dayton, OH and supporting process assurance audits of development programs supported by DQA at Dayton and Vandalia, OH.

Roles and Responsibilities
General Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Identify needs, causes, and trends; present research analysis; and develop and assist in implementing potential resolutions.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, procedural, and contractual requirements during product development and introduction phases by developing and applying appropriate inspection criteria.
Witness and audit hardware and software development processes to ensure adherence to established plans and procedures (as required).
Prepare reports/pivot tables by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) Accelerator Lab include but not limited to:
Will act as primary point of contact for quality issues including setting priorities for others quality engineers/inspectors supporting the NPI lab
Support lab staff in the assembly, test, troubleshooting, and shipment of units from the lab that meet all delivery and quality requirements
Read, understand, and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics
Read, understand, and apply written assembly and test work instructions, procedures, specifications, and standards
Review and approve engineering changes to procedures, work instructions and drawings to help ensure issues are identified before items are released
Create and manage inspection criteria for in-process and final inspections of components, sub-assemblies and upper level assemblies to ensure the correct level of inspections are performed
Ability to perform visual and mechanical measurements using scales, calipers, and gauges (as needed)
Ability to create, address root cause/corrective action, approval and closure of non-conformances.
Maintain IPC 610/620 certifications for performing inspections
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
Plus, a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Manufacturing or Quality role
OR
High school diploma / GED
Plus, a minimum of 10 years of experience in a Manufacturing or Quality role
AND
- This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status.
Eligibility Requirements
- This role will be required to sit onsite 5 days/per week at our facility in Dayton, OH and also the Vandalia, OH site (as required by business needs)

Strong interpersonal skills
Some exposure to aerospace electronics / avionics engineering and development
Proficient in dimensional and visual inspection of electrical/mechanical components, materials, and supplies against drawings and quality instructions for damage and defects
Basic understanding of aircraft certification processes (esp. FAA, EASA)
Awareness of domain standards such as RTCA/DO-178B, RTCA/DO-254, RTCA/DO-297, SAE ARP4754A
Experience performing First Articles to AS9102 standard
