Woolpert is hiring an Environmental Director to join our dynamic Buildings Sector and work in our Advisory Services Market. This position reports to the Market Director and is primarily responsible for delivering advisory services, including technical project support and developing strategy and tactics related to Federal and other Government agency markets. This position can accommodate fully remote working arrangements Responsibilities The Environmental Director is responsible for leading cross-sector technical teams to execute projects, for developing and managing all business development activities for assigned clients, and for delivering a specific yearly sales and revenue goal. Success will be measured by the ability to develop, lead, and grow relationships and projects. Working with market and discipline leaders, project managers, and other Woolpert subject matter experts, you will devise, execute, and manage strategic projects and marketing as an industry-leading representative in your area. You will also be collaborating with, supporting, and promoting other markets and practices to assist their growth. Essential Functions As an Environmental Director, you will: Provide leadership in the development and delivery of environmental services across Woolpert in continuous evaluation of and adherence to short and long-term strategic objectives. Provide technical leadership on cross-sector environmental projects, studies, requirements, and business development strategies. Establish and maintain strong cross-sector relationships to understand their needs and seek full range of business solutions. Build and deliver Woolpert's "trusted advisor" reputation while developing environmental capabilities by trust through competency, delivery and thought leadership. Become a subject matter expert with our client's while being the industry expert for Woolpert on environmental and nature-based solutions. Achieve growth in environmental projects nationally by forging new relationship and by building on existing business opportunities and securing new value-based programmatic business. Create and ensure conformance to a clear market development strategy that encompasses all relevant disciplines and delivers on sales growth and revenue objectives. Communicate regularly with other departments, executives, and staff reporting on technical and sub-market activity. Qualifications 15 years of experience in environmental sciences and engineering Master's or PhD degree in Architecture, Engineering, Planning, or a related field preferred but not required. Well-connected in USACE and other Federal agencies, with a reputation as an expert leader and subject matter expert by past clients and peers. Strategic thinker who can connect vision and strategy to tactical execution. Strong presence and leadership skills with proven experience in building and managing cross-functional teams. Strong organizational development skills with confidence to develop and lead. Demonstrated ability to lead, build and hold teams accountable, and achieve results. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, engage and build trust with clients and staff. Strong Army/USACE knowledge with business development, financial, analytical and business acumen. Must be a proactive self-starter with a track record of making good decisions. Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting Woolpert and Market/Sector needs.
