Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)

  • Processes and ensures the accuracy of student attendance on a daily basis for the purpose of accurate tracking and documentation of student attendance.

  • Researches discrepancies of attendance information and/or documentation for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing and/or referring for action.

  • Evaluates situations for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.

  • Maintains documents, files to DocuShare student records for the purpose of documenting and/or providing accurate, up-to-date information for future reference and audit trail for compliance and conformance with District and State requirements.

  • Orients school site staff, students, and parents/guardians for the purpose of ensuring accurate attendance reporting and documentation.

  • Assist Principal and Building Secretary.

  • Helps in all offices including health office as needed. Employee must get medication certified.

  • Work with counselors on attendance.

  • Prepares written attendance materials (e.g. school attendance reports, teacher reports, student attendance histories, attendance letter, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities.

  • Responds to inquiries of staff, parents, and/or students (e.g. attendance history, classroom enrollments, student schedules, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or direction.

  • Assists in preparing BEDS report and other building reports as requested.

  • Other duties as assigned by administrator. .

Physical Requirements of Position:

  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs

Special Qualification Desired: (Personal Qualities, Education, Skills Needed, Experience, Etc.)

  • Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalency

  • Skilled in use of Infinite Campus

  • Experience with diverse populations

  • Attentive to detail and accuracy; good organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure, establish priorities, maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines while maintaining a calm demeanor during stressful situations.

  • Able to take initiative in identifying tasks to be accomplished.

  • Ability to be cross-trained with other clerical position within the office
