WSP USA Intermediate Scientist/EA Practitioner in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
WSP is currently seeking an Intermediate Environmental Scientist to join our Atlantic Environmental Assessment and Permitting team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia . Primary responsibilities will be to provide support on a wide variety of projects as delegated by senior staff within the group.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the planning and execution of:
Environmental permit applications
Environmental assessments
Familiarity, or knowledge of: wetland assessments, terrestrial biological studies, and/or estuary/marine biological studies
Preparation of proposals and technical reports
Key requirements include:
University Degree in Biology or Environmental Science, however applicants with technical diplomas may be considered
2-5 years’ experience
Solid technical and/or academic background in biological sciences
Experience with some or all of the following:
environmental resources surveys and analysis including aquatic and marine sciences: (fish community, benthic invertebrate and sediment sampling, water quality sampling, area-velocity discharge measurements and fish habitat mapping), and/or
Terrestrial sciences: wetland delineations, botany, fauna surveys
Strong computer, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to
work in Canada with a valid Canadian driver’s license
work effectively as a member of a team, and also independently with minimal supervision and direction
demonstrate excellent writing and communication skills
demonstrate an existing strong commitment to personal/professional development and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
