Position Overview

This Senior Graphic Designer with a motion graphics focus is part of Corporate Communications & Marketing, and will be a member of both the graphic design team and the Shaw Media Lab, our in-house video production team. The Media Lab is a high-performing team charged with showcasing our products, promoting our company, and informing our associates. The Motion Graphics Designer uses professional production tools to create digital content that showcases our products, promotes our company, and informs our associates.

The designer will work collaboratively with Digital Media Producers from the Media Lab to define the creative vision for video projects. Additionally, the designer will work closely with Art Directors, Graphic Designers, and Marketing and Communication team members to execute both digital and print materials, as needed. Produced content will be shared on channels that include the company’s intranet, social media, brand-specific websites, and directly with targeted audiences.

This professional must be highly organized, a self-starter, and able to juggle multiple projects at once. Candidate must have a ‘can do’ attitude and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Motion Graphics

  • Incorporating typography, visual effects, and sound design to enhance the overall impact and engagement of motion graphic content.

  • Use motion graphics/imagery/animations that enhance Shaw’s media projects and campaigns.

  • Utilizing video software, such as Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Cinema 4D, to design and execute captivating motion graphic projects.

  • Edits and delivers quality content using professional design and motion graphics editing applications (including Adobe Creative Cloud).

  • Drive creative design and execution of graphics for print and digital media: websites, email campaigns, branded presentations, events, signage, communication campaigns and more.

  • Coordinate with Art Director to ensure designs align with brand strategy.

  • Uphold the Shaw brand, ensuring compliance of identity and corporate standards.

  • Responsible for quick turnaround requests that target customers and leverage existing marketing materials, ensuring the final product is on-brand and on-message.

  • Clearly communicates key messages and understands brand tone and voice.

  • Efficiently plans and executes multiple projects at a time.

  • Digital Asset Management:

  • Manages produced content, and digital assets to ensure proper workflows for production and archiving.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design , Media Arts, Communications, or related fields or equivalent work experience.

  • 3 + years experience working as a professional designer, motion graphics artist.

  • Strong illustration, layout and typographic skills required .

  • Exceptional editing skills, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of our business' various types of content.

  • A strong eye for detail, design, composition, and creative critical thinking.

  • The ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment.

  • Understanding of digital tools and enablement technologies that help support business outcomes.

  • Experience on Adobe platforms (specifically, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects) preferred.
