Robert Half Plant Manager in Dallas, Texas

Description

We are partnering with a privately owned Manufacturing company to source a Manufacturing Plant Manager who is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. They develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.

  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customers’ expectations. Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards. Be responsible for production output, product quality, and on-time shipping.

  • Lead and coach a high-performing manufacturing team to meet agreed objectives. Monitor and manage staff performance including setting objectives, conducting appraisals, and providing training and development. Foster a culture of continuous improvement among team members.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the facility meets corporate goals. Oversee budgetary planning and ensure cost efficiency while maintaining high standards of production.

  • Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Promote and maintain a safe and clean working environment through adherence to established safety and health policies. Implement corrective actions for any violations or safety hazards.

  • Implement quality control programs to maintain high product standards. Ensure that quality issues and defects are quickly identified and resolved.

  • Analyze and improve the processes, workflows, and overall operations to enhance efficiency. Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Manage inventory levels to ensure that products are available for customers when needed. Oversee the supply chain operations, including procurement and logistics.

  • Maintain and improve customer relationships through effective communication and timely delivery of products. Resolve any customer complaints or issues promptly and effectively.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on manufacturing activities, including production volumes, quality metrics, and operational efficiency. Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

  • Stay updated with technological advancements and integrate new technologies to improve manufacturing processes. Implement and oversee the maintenance of manufacturing equipment and technology.

  • Develop, monitor, and manage the plant budget. Ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.

  • Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to ensure cost-effective purchase of materials and services. Manage relationships with stakeholders including suppliers, vendors, and customers.

  • Ensure operations are conducted in an environmentally responsible manner. Implement initiatives to reduce waste and enhance sustainability practices.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Administration, or related work experience

  • Proven experience as a Plant Manager or in a similar managerial role.

  • In-depth knowledge of production management, quality control, and other managerial aspects.

  • Strong team-building, decision-making, and people management skills.

  • Proficiency in manufacturing software and MS Office.

This role demands a proactive leader with a strong commitment to excellence in manufacturing and a proven ability to drive results through team collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives. The hours will align with the production schedule which is M-Th 6:30-4:30 and Fri 4:30-2:30.
