Job Description

As a Media Search Director , you will be a leader within the Consumer Communications (C2) Group. Core responsibilities of the job involve applying critical and creative thinking beyond the scope of media solutions including translating expectations into deliverables and communicating those deliverables across departments. Directors on the team are required to have strong comprehension and application of marketing objectives and solutions through writing and presenting strategic, executive level documents. Managing communication and balancing agency realities across departments is also critical to the role.

Success for this position is measured by the following:

  • Provides leadership and vision for the team

  • Maintains client relations while thoroughly understanding client’s business and shows an ability to anticipate client needs

  • Demonstrate both the art and science of working with Search Marketing

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and lead relationship with external Search Partner

  • Utilize organizational skills to manage and prioritize team daily work flow

  • Monitor budgets and billing process for accuracy and timeliness

  • Lead the development of paid search strategies

  • Create client decks with Search Strategist, present to client, and oversee plan execution with Search Agency Partner

  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships internally (across departments) and externally (clients, media vendors)

  • Collaborate internally with Account, Creative, Strategy, Production and Measurement teams to ensure strategic alignment

  • Coaching, guidance, inspirational leadership and performance management of all direct reports

  • Proactively address process, workflow, resources and communications issues and impediments

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8-10 years of dedicated Paid Search planning experience – and within a supervisory capacity for at least 3-5 years

  • Automotive or retail media experience is desirable

  • Ability to think critically and creatively to develop solutions that secure client goals – understanding that KPIs are not client goals, but a metric for determine if we’re on a path to securing client goals

  • Ability to apply critical thinking and analysis in business writing

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – must excel in the ability to explain complex systems/structures to clients / internal media teams / agency teams

  • Excellent organization and time management skills

  • Working knowledge of media research tools (Google Analytics, Omniture, Adobe Analytics, etc.) and ability to analyze syndicated research

  • Expert knowledge of Search Ads 360, Google AdWords, Microsoft Advertising (Bing), Prisma, SEM Rush

  • Experience with Google Analytics 360 a strong plus

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to prioritize large volume of own work as well as manage team deliverables and providing feedback in a timely fashion

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and changes in direction

  • Resourcefulness, creatively using resources to proactively solve problems and get the job done

  • Ability to build and maintain strong interpersonal / professional relationship with vendors, clients, etc.
