Aerotek Lead Welder in Dallas, Texas

Job Title: Welder Lead

Job Description

We are seeking two experienced Welder Leads for our 2nd shift. Each Welder Lead will manage a team of approximately 10 welders, ensuring the team remains on task and managing PTO and attendance. The right candidate must have 2-5 years of welding experience, be proficient with power tools, grinders, and cutting tools, and be able to weld and fabricate products from mechanical drawings, diagrams, and blueprints. This role requires precision welding and the application of appropriate techniques on various metals in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of approximately 10 welders

  • Ensure the team remains on task and manage PTO and attendance

  • Conduct basic write-ups

  • Weld and assemble new metal forms

  • Utilize power tools, grinders, and cutting tools

  • Weld and fabricate products from mechanical drawings, diagrams, and blueprints

  • Apply appropriate welding techniques on various metals

  • Perform repetitive tasks in a non-climate-controlled shop

Essential Skills

  • 2-5 years of welding experience

  • Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding

  • Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum

  • Ability to read blueprints and spec drawings

  • Proficiency with power tools, grinders, and cutting tools

  • Experience in welding stainless steel and sheet metal

  • Ability to use tape measures and cutting torches

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Troubleshooting skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1-2+ years of lead, supervisor, or foreman experience

  • Experience with overhead and JIG cranes

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
