The Director, Material Planning is in charge of 4 billion dollars of parts and materials and leads all aspects of aircraft parts and tooling material planning, inventory management, and supply chain coordination within Technical Operations. This role drives strategic planning, enhances forecasting accuracy, and collaborates cross-functionally to optimize procurement, production support, and distribution while ensuring cost-effectiveness and high service levels.

Comprehensive management of all supply chain material planning functions for aircraft parts and tooling. This includes inventory ownership and optimization, ensuring on-time planning, and maximizing inventory productivity and turnover
Focus on maximizing order coverage and service levels, supporting Line and Base/Heavy check materials, and material service level rates.
Lead efforts to redefine inventory strategies, including network allocation and overall inventory strategy
Develop and implement an enhanced strategic material planning processes to ensure timely availability of materials while optimizing inventory levels
Lead initiatives to enhance inventory productivity and turnover, ensuring efficient use of resources
Maximize order coverage and service levels to support operational requirements, including RON (Remain Overnight), engineering/project modifications, and Line and Heavy Check materials requirements
Conduct comprehensive network allocation and inventory strategy projects to redefine inventory management practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align material planning with overall business objectives and operational goals
Monitor and analyze material service level rates, implementing improvements as necessary.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, process optimization, and quality enhancement
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or other relevant field or equivalent experience/training
10 years of experience in demand forecasting, supply planning, inventory management, and/or material planning
7 years of experience managing personnel
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Advanced degree
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Excellent understanding of ERP/MRP systems and demand planning tools
Demonstrates program management skills – able to set vision, motivate/influence, and measure performance
Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex initiatives and redefine inventory strategies
Proven track record of optimizing stock levels, improving supply chain efficiency, and ensuring material availability to meet business needs and service expectations efficiently
Ability to drive projects to completion with a strong bias for action
Good decision-maker – uses facts, experience, technical experts, and data to make sound decisions
Quantitative mindset with strong analytical and data processing capabilities
