Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
Demonstrates effective communication with school aged and adolescent students, parents, teachers, and staff
Check in/out all lab students daily
Assists with parent orientation for the lab parents on the first day of class
Coordinates parent night each year and presents to the parents the lab information
Maintains all communications, attendance and reports in Epic
Develops, revises and prepares all parent communication as needed by the Education team
Organizes and coordinates Dyslexia Lab waiting list, parent meetings, graduation, daily schedule, and reports
Assists with all LWCD special events as assigned
Coordinates Christmas activities with the hospital and lab coordinator
Coordinates Lab student participation with PR department of the hospital and lab coordinator
Maintains and keeps the Lab Coordinator apprised of all lab referrals
Updates, manages and collects Therapist Training applications, checking all applications for completion and then prepares them for review by the Director of Education
Sets up interviews for all viable candidates and prepares paperwork (potential therapists and lab patients)
Sends acceptance and rejection letters to all candidates (potential therapists and lab patients)
Works with the Director of Education, the Lab Coordinator and the Therapist Training Coordinator to secure rooms for all trainings, meetings and graduation each year, as well as set up and clean up
Prepares all required materials for student and therapist orientation
Fields most phone calls concerning the Dyslexia Lab and Therapist Training
Serves as back up to the Materials coordinator
Serves as back up to the front desk
Participate in phone call rotation
Required Skills/Abilities
High school degree or equivalent required.
Bachelor degree preferred.
A minimum of three years’ experience with independent responsibilities required.
Excellent telephone, reception and public relations skills.
Computer skills for data collection, word processing.
Requires knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Power Point and Excel.
